If you’re visiting this page,
there’s a good chance your life hasn’t gone according to plan.
Perhaps you're grieving someone important. Maybe you're caring for a loved one whose health is declining. Maybe you're navigating a major life transition and feeling uncertain about what comes next.
Whatever brings you here, I want you to know that you're welcome.
My work is centered around helping people navigate grief, loss, caregiving, identity changes, and difficult transitions. I believe that healing isn't about forgetting what's happened or pretending everything is okay. It's about learning how to carry difficult experiences while continuing to build a meaningful life.
Grief, Loss, and Transition Require a Well-Rounded Approach.
I believe deeply in understanding emotions, but I also believe in helping people develop concrete skills that make life easier to navigate. My style is collaborative, curious, and direct. I strive to create a space where clients feel accepted while also challenged to grow.
I draw from evidence-based approaches including:
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Schema Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Interventions
Gottman Method Relationship Therapy
Career Coaching
Rather than forcing clients into a specific model, I tailor therapy to the individual sitting across from me.
Grief is Complex.
One of the things I've learned as a therapist is that grief extends far beyond death.
We grieve people.
We grieve relationships.
We grieve identities.
We grieve futures we expected to have.
We grieve versions of ourselves that no longer exist.
Throughout my career, I've been drawn to helping people make sense of life's most difficult chapters. I find tremendous meaning in helping clients understand their emotions, strengthen relationships, reconnect with their values, and create a future worth moving toward.
Then, grief became deeply personal for me as well.
After helping clients navigate loss for years, I experienced the illness and very sudden death of my own father. Walking alongside someone you love through serious illness, caregiving, anticipatory grief, and eventually loss dramatically changed me. While every person's experience is unique, that chapter deepened my appreciation for how complicated grief can be and how much courage it takes to continue moving forward.
Because of those experiences, I bring both professional training and personal humility to this work to both honor my clients and honor my relationship with my dad.
This photo is of my dad and me riding my very first rollercoaster, long before the vertigo and motion sickness of my 30s kicked in!
A Little About Me
Before my seven years of being a therapist, I worked in higher education and career development for four years. I'm also a Certified Career Coach and have spent more than a decade total helping people navigate major life decisions involving work, identity, purpose, and personal growth. I, myself, during this time made considerable life transitions in career, moving across the country from South Carolina to Seattle, and starting my own business.
Outside of therapy, I'm a lifelong learner who enjoys:
playing instruments (piano and French horn)
travel (especially to national parks)
languages (hablo español & eu falo português)
cheering on all of the Seattle sports teams (especially the Seahawks and Storm)
exploring the Pacific Northwest (in pursuit of seeing orca and eating the tastiest food)
I'm often happiest when I'm learning something new, spending time with people I care about, or wandering somewhere with a good cup of coffee (iced lattes, no matter the weather) and a beautiful view.
I believe that curiosity, connection, and meaning are some of the most powerful forces available to us during difficult times.
